Food Safety Manager

We are seeking an entry to mid-level precise and driven food safety expert to lead our food safety programs and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
As the Food Safety Manager at LFA will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving quality assurance and food safety programs, certifications, and audit requirements. They will also monitor all the data to improve systems and quality and troubleshoot, including being a key player in investigating customer complaints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implementing and managing the facility’s Food Safety plan and associated policies and procedures by monitoring, supporting, improving and enforcing them. This includes plant audits, coordinating risk assessments when necessary and managing the recall of any incorrect batches as well as maintaining all necessary records. With the aim of obtaining the ISO 22000 qualification.
- Ensuring that all GMP and Safety standards are in compliance with the ISO 22000 specification.
- Approving audit supplier Food Safety compliance.
- Designing and implementing quality assurance training programs and working in collaboration with other departments as necessary to meet goals and objectives.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant as well as the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process including quality specifications and standards.
- Formulating and maintaining quality objectives, aligning and coordinating objectives with production and business objectives in cooperation with the managers and other colleagues to maximize food safety, product quality, and minimize costs.
- Dealing with complaints and reacting to emerging issues or trends engaging the appropriate functions and process owners, so they are all investigated and resolved in a timely manner. Monitoring and recording this data and quality data for troubleshooting or continuous quality improvement where appropriate.
- Key stakeholder in achieving third-party specialized quality certifications CFR111, Gluten Free, Organic, Vegan, Halal, Kosher, and ISO 22000.
- Maintaining correlating monitoring activities and document retention thereof.
- Developing and maintaining any internal or external change requests. Assuring the requests are processed timely and approved changes are implemented as outlined by effective dates. Coordinating any required training programs to the accepted changes.
- Running the HACCP system and managing the allergen control program.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience Experience in food manufacturing, pharmaceutic/nutraceutical processing, or a related industry.
- Experiencing running a HACCP system.
- Experience with FSMS or FSQA.
- Working with ISO 22000 or BRC equivalent.
- Team player capable of working independently.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Keen to excel and work above standards.
- Leadership and project management skills
Pay: Based on education, experience, and skills.
Schedule: Onsite at our 6601 Will Rogers Blvd. Fort Worth, TX location Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
