Product Finisher/Polisher

The Product Finisher/Polisher is responsible for the final preparation and finishing of products before they are packaged or shipped. This role includes tasks such as sanding, polishing, deburring, inspecting, cleaning, and assembling components to ensure a high-quality final product that meets company standards and customer expectations.
Scheu & Kniss is a trusted name in the tablet press replacement parts and turrets industry since 1915. Although it's beneficial to have experience in the industry, we are happy to train the right person. You will need to be ready for a hands-on challenge and passionate to always keep learning.
Job Responsibilities
- Use hand and hand-held power tools on metal surfaces to correct defects, smooth and prepare surfaces and polish materials.
- Inspect products for quality and conformance to specifications.
- Set up and operate polishing equipment.
- Prepare the buffing wheel, hold and move parts against the wheel until the part is smooth and free of defects or any plating effects instigated by production.
- Maintain buffing materials and equipment including buffers, finishing wheels, finishing machines and burnishers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or product specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to sharp edges and lubricants. Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes. Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required at all times.
